Kashi Atlanta Begins its Spring 10 Day Yoga Detox
May 2, 2008

On Friday, May 2, 2008, over 100 people joined together with the intent to cleanse, heal, detoxify and tone their body through the ancient practices of Yoga and Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of natural healing. Participants ranged from those who had never practiced yoga before to those who have been practicing for years. During the first class, Jaya Devi guided participants in determining their dosha, or ayuvedic body type. She then led participants through the practices of each day of the Detox. Afterwards, participants were able to buy soups, prepared by Whole Foods chefs, and ghee (clarified butter) needed for the practices. Everyone left excited and eager to begin their journey.

Ten Day Yoga Detox Mini Workshop and Tea
May 8, 2008

Over 60 Ten Day Yoga Detox participants flowed and breathed together in a special class led by Candika on Thursday, May 8th. Jaya Devi then taught participants how to do the ancient ayuvedic practice Abyangha, and explained the benefits of the Spring Detox Bath Salt. Participants were then served tea prepared by Whole Foods chef Trishula Eltz in traditional lungar style, and shared stories and experiences of the Detox so far.

Ten Day Yoga Detox Ends
May 12, 2008

The Spring Ten Day Yoga Detox ended on May 12, 2008. During the last workshop, Jaya Devi taught participants how to continue to incorporate the practices of ayurveda and yoga in their daily lives to live a more balanced life. She also discussed how to continue to lose weight. Jaya Devi led participants in resetting different systems of the body that were cleansed and really working during the Detox. The Detox ended with a wonderful partner massage. Everyone left cleansed, rejuvenated, and ready for Spring.
