Weekend Introduction to Anusara-Inspired Yoga
with Isvari Verre, RYT
Experience the depth, empowerment and playful fun of Anusara yoga in a special 2- day workshop with Isvari Verre. Feel more connected and unfold with greater freedom in your poses as we move from the inside out with an open attitude, skillful alignment and balanced action. Open to all levels, the sessions are meant to complement each other for a deeper experience of practice. Weaving the Universal Principles of Alignment and an uplifting heart-centered philosophy, the essence of Anusara yoga will be explored the main classes of asana (postures).
Friday Evening: 6:00-8:30 pm:
One of the great gifts of yoga is to connect us to something greater than ourselves. As we progress in our own inner journey, we become profoundly aware that there is something larger and more magnificent at work in our universe.
When we learn to tap into the power of foundation and the vast benefits inherent to the currents of energy referred to when we open to “Grace,” our yoga practice takes on a luminous, almost magical quality. This opening session of the workshop will unfold Anusara yoga’s First Universal Principle of Alignment with easy flow, hip openers and simple arm balances while exploring the philosophical foundations of Anusara yoga
Saturday Morning 10 am-12:30 pm:
One of the fundamental tenets of Anusara yoga is that Stability Leads to Freedom. In this class we will explore how to make the body stable through Muscular Energy and use that stability to expand our asana practice. As we become more resonant with the pulse of consciousness through the action of balancing Muscular and Organic Energy, the experience of our center, knowingly and joyfully unfolds. Find Stability and Freedom and what happens when they come into balance in this practice of standing poses and simple backbends.
Saturday Afternoon 2:30-5:00 pm:
A physical breakthrough such as mastering a new pose can also open our heart and lead us to new understandings of life. The great promise of yoga is that life is filled with these moments and that we can become virtuosos at finding and embracing them. The Universal Principles of Anusara Yoga are designed to show us the Sacred in all things at all times.
The Loops and Spirals of Anusara yoga, which refine the flows of Muscular and Organic Energy, allow us to skillfully step more fully into the currents of Grace and all that is good. The Loops and Spirals are techniques that help us open more fully. Whenever there is alignment, there is an awakening.
This afternoon’s practice of forward bends, twists and other poses will help us align more fully with the Divine Essence within us.
