Ten Day Yoga Detox with Swami Jaya Devi BhagavatiFree Introduction to Pranayama
with Candika Kim Alford

Pranayama is the ancient yogic practice of mastering the breath. When you can control the breath, stress, pain, fear and even some disease can be transcended. Pranayama revitalizes the entire body, expands the heart and calms the mind, preparing you for meditation. These practices are a part of the foundations of yoga as set out by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras over 2,000 years ago. And with the popularity of yoga in the west ever growing, it is time to reintroduce the spirit behind the teachings, which not only includes asanas (yoga postures), but also conscious breathing and meditation practices.

This workshop is for those beginning yoga and meditation. You will learn to expand the benefits of your yoga and meditation practices with the tools of pranayama. A variety of breath practices will be introduced that you can incorporate into your daily practice.

We will start with an asana practice to settle the body and then move into a discussion about pranayama, followed by practicing the techniques.

Sunday, January 24 from 1-2:15 pm - FREE
